I guess it’s time to say Vellcommen To Cullertontime- a verbal rambling of my wonderings and wanderings-whilst whiling away my life in the shoe business. Currently I’m doing of course- a Great Brand called EGOandGREED.com -Hard to Find but worth it and EZ to get at the website-mentioned afore. A multi faceted diamond of a website,put together by my erstwhile wandering friend Gene Lavigne- a genius who’s travelled  extensively in Danbury,CT, like Thoreau did in Concord Mass- quite awhile ago.
So to visit the site- and even buy some shoes-Be Unique- and abit true to yourself.
When asked for search words to be used for this,the Director-Julie Leonard,an Emmy award winning producer at nycs’ own channel 13- Patiently waited while i lay horizontally ,with eyes rolling skyward-unable to even hardly concentrate,yet a few words leaked from my lips- Fun,Fashion,Wondering,Wandering maybe a few more i can’t recall presently.
It took all involved over a year of cajoling,prodding n pushing me to do this- as it just didn’t seem real. I had visions of Voodooesque Pirate Radio ships off-shore-broadcasting music-late into the nocturnal hours.
Maybe travellin’ was another one of those search words. That  would ring true,for I have travelled as i have wondered and wandered,somewhat fecklessly about this planet for the last 40 years.
So, of consequence- what ought be vaguely covered tonight? Ego? Greed? Shoes? Fun? Fashion? Wondering? Wandering? Music?
Let’s flip the quintessential coin-
Ahhh- let’s try shoes. For without them- i have to assume All the rest of the this stuff-might not have happened at all. To me and the other “unfortunates” that have had to endure my coming and goings over these past decades.
The Planet has been my Living Room for my life.

Musicians i know who also tend to wander fecklessly -ceaselessly- n  for the most part-Effortlessly around the world-stopping here n there for only hours or a few days at the most-have told me of the similarities of the lifestyle.
I’ve travelled as they’ve toured- long distances-waited long periods of time only to play for a few hours before once again alighting onto the road to the next job.
Some called it a bad case of white line fever.
For ya see- shoes are made Everywhere. In places one wouldn’t believe or conceive of. And that’s what i have done. I have been on a “shoe tour” for lack of a better term-since the early 70′s til now.

What women will do for shoes!! I so often smile. Remembering almost everything-Recalling almost Everyone i”ve run into on the road.
A veritable comedy of errors and ideas,that currently are residing in the form of my brand Ego and Greed.
Not my EGO- Nor my GREED.
For the former i have some like everyone-yet for the latter- i have little.
I have seen both-get lots of otherwise good folk into endless trials and travails.

So, the shoe brand EGO and GREED has a tongue in cheek thing going on to it-

I heard somebody sometime recently ask someone else- what would  happen if they threw everyone on Wall st. into jail- like they did to Bernie Madoff or Ivan Bosky or untold others less famous-
Theodore Dreiser wrote extensively on these 2 subjects.
So, not wanting to take myself too seriously i’ve stayed pretty much away from the politics of everything. I guess that might make me a ‘political  atheist”- if one wanted to brand me- which no one has to date- though i hear more often than not- that i look like so n so- or often am directly almost accosted on the street- met with Absurd Verbage like-
“Are you him??” “Is this Really You!!” to which i most likely respond- with a ” Well, I don’t know- Am I?” a type of vague retort- not unpleasantly.
Without autograph or photo- invariably i slide on by- keepin direction to my stride.
“Ne pers pas le Nord’- Never lose the North- the French would say.
Yes- France- the Capital of the High Heel!!

I once produced a series of neon color’d pumps- with upside down Eiffel Tower for heels. Everybody loved them!! and i couldn”t make enough of them!! Women did not Stop-Look nor Listen,when those caught their eye briefly- they just Bought them.
I did have to laugh about that one- n still do when their memories rise up from the miasma of footwear i’ver made before that and since.
To continue- shoes, mostly for women, I’ve made for they are known- to “hide”- these “I had to have these”- Flats,pumps,boots,sandals and ballets from their  husbands,boyfriends or partners. Their SOs’.
One woman once showed me the trunk of her sedan she sauntered around town in- it was full of those 30 mill gauge Hefty trash bags-which were filled- yes thats right- Shoes.
Shoes of all kinds and cruelties.
I mean- they are far worse than wigs-women have told me- in their ability to transform the self.
It is phenomenal to be truthful to that extent.
So- I’ve stayed in this Foot Affair-this foot covering fiasco-forever- so far.
I could have been alot of other things-besides myself yet it was I that ultimately chose this loose love affair with footwear.
People,friends who knew and know me- have said-
“You should have written books”
“You should have your own radio show” All this in ernest observation of me over the years.
“You could’ve bee a comedian”
I a m riot already!
I’m a ready-made Riot.

And it’s all prewritten- so i am a writer. The shoe business has left me Breathless-Broke and Begotten.
I’ve usually had fun,yet i’m certainly having it now.
